(Episode 13) Decoding Stress: Essential Insights for Military Spouse - Part 3

Welcome back to our 3-part series focused on stress and its impact on our health and fitness as military spouses & women in military life!

If you recall, in Part 1 we covered the basics of stress and its general effects on our bodies & why it’s important for military spouses to manage it due to the unique stressors we face, such as deployment anxiety, frequent relocations, financial pressures, & role overload (⁠⁠listen here⁠⁠).

Then, in Part 2, we explored how stress can impact our health & fitness, both positively & negatively. We discussed the concept of hormesis, explaining how small amounts of stress can benefit our bodies by triggering adaptive responses. However, we highlighted five ways chronic stress can negatively affect our health & fitness efforts. Lastly, we touched on how chronic stress can diminish the positive effects of hormesis.
